EMPOWERING TOURISM ENTERPRISES

Mentorship & Investment Linkages

The Tourism Diversification and Resilience in The Gambia Project (TDRGP) recognizes that sustainable growth in the tourism sector depends on more than financial support—it requires knowledge transfer, mentorship, and strategic collaboration. The Mentorship & Investment Linkages initiative under the Yokute Accelerator is designed to bridge the gap between emerging tourism enterprises and established industry leaders, creating a thriving, inclusive ecosystem.

  • 1. Building Mentorship Networks: Partnerships with lead firms and professionals enable MSMEs to gain insights into business management, quality assurance, marketing, and sustainability. Mentors guide enterprises in refining operations and aligning with international standards.

  • 2. Strengthening Market and Value Chain Linkages: MSMEs are connected with hotels, resorts, and tour operators, opening access to consistent demand, joint marketing opportunities, and better visibility in both local and international markets.

  • 3. Facilitating Investment Partnerships: Enterprises receive technical support to develop investor-ready business plans and proposals, and are introduced to potential investors through networking events, investment bootcamps, and co-financing opportunities.

  • 4. Promoting Knowledge Exchange & Innovation: The initiative fosters a culture of peer learning and innovation, where entrepreneurs share experiences and best practices that drive competitiveness and resilience.

Through the Mentorship & Investment Linkages initiative, TDRGP is cultivating a generation of investment-ready, innovation-driven tourism enterprises. By connecting MSMEs with mentors, investors, and lead firms, the project strengthens The Gambia’s position as a resilient and inclusive tourism destination that empowers local communities and drives sustainable growth.
